An eTwinning Project that Connects Young People from 14 Countries through Friendship, Technology, and Creativity

       In a world where education increasingly transcends the boundaries of traditional classrooms, the international project “Crazy, Easy, Fizzy Friendship”, carried out on the eTwinning platform, brought together students and teachers from 14 different countries in an educational adventure based on collaboration, digital innovation, and intercultural openness.

Main Objectives:

·        Promoting international collaboration among students;

·        Encouraging intercultural communication;

·        Using modern technology in a creative and responsible way in the educational process.

Key Activities

       Over several months, students participated in numerous interactive and interdisciplinary activities designed to stimulate free expression, critical thinking, and teamwork. These included:
🔹 Creating a digital personal profile – students learned how to express their identity authentically and safely in the online environment;
🔹 Messages about cultural values – they shared ideas about friendship, respect, and solidarity, helping to develop empathy and mutual understanding;
🔹 AI-generated stories – an activity that fostered creativity, interest in new technologies, and logical thinking;
🔹 Digital avatars with Bitmoji – students expressed their personalities playfully while strengthening their digital skills.

Key Moments and Collaborations

       In November 2024, third-grade students from the “Miron Ionescu” Special Education Center in Cluj-Napoca connected online with those from “Iordache Cantacuzino” Middle School in Pașcani, under the guidance of teacher Maricica Bălteanu. Together, they created the project logo in Canva and avatars in Avatar Maker, which were published on Padlet.

       In December 2024, the project partnered with Fatih Imam Hatip Secondary School in Turkey, coordinated by teacher Hatice Ozer. From Cluj-Napoca, teachers Adela Petrenciu and Victoria Burduhos involved students in creating PowerPoint presentations and interactive graphic materials.

       In January 2025, children imagined and designed custom T-shirts using Canva, which they personalized and sent to their Turkish partners—adding an artistic and emotional touch to the collaboration.

       In April 2025, students drew the Ukrainian flag, and their favorite artworks were animated using the Animated Drawings app and sent to their partners in Ukraine, coordinated by teacher Nina Krasylova.

       The project culminated in the creation of a poetic acronym for the title “Crazy, Easy, Fizzy Friendship”, developed with the help of ChatGPT, incorporating ideas from all international partners.

Technology – A Catalyst for Learning

The project stood out through its smart integration of technology in educational activities. Students used:

·        WhatsApp – for real-time online meetings;

·        Canva and Avatar Maker – for graphic creations and digital identity building;

·        Padlet – as a collaborative platform;

·        Animated Drawings – to bring students’ drawings to life;

·        YouTube – to share educational videos;

·        ChatGPT – for AI-assisted creative writing.

Impact on Students

Participation in “Crazy, Easy, Fizzy Friendship” brought significant benefits to students:

·        Increased self-confidence and communication skills in foreign languages;

·        Acquisition of modern digital competencies, applied in real-world contexts;

·        Greater cultural tolerance and openness to diversity;

·        Development of a positive attitude towards learning and collaboration.

Protecting Identity and Respecting Legislation

       A key aspect of the project was protecting personal data. Students created avatars instead of using real photos, and all activities took place on secure platforms supervised by teachers, who also obtained parental consent.

       Moreover, the project respected copyright by using original materials and citing sources, and all activities were carried out strictly for educational purposes.

Pedagogical Methods and Approaches

The project was based on:

·        Learning by Doing;

·        Teamwork and international collaboration;

·        Using technology as an educational support tool;

·        Inclusive and differentiated approaches, tailored to each student’s needs;

·        Educational games and creative, interactive activities;

·        Intercultural education and global competence development.

Conclusion

       “Crazy, Easy, Fizzy Friendship” was not just a simple educational project. It was a meaningful journey filled with creativity and empathy. It proved that, beyond borders and differences, true friendships can be born with a single click—if there is a willingness to collaborate, curiosity about others, and openness to the future.
